Computer Golf Games

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

The first computer game was developed in the year 1962. Since then, computer games have evolved significantly. Today, online versions are available for every game played on earth.

A computer golf game is software that is executed on a computer. This software simulates the game of golf and enables players to experience real life golf on a computer screen. Basic requirements for these games include a fast computer system and the gaming software. The games have individual and multiplayer options for playing the game. Players have the option of playing a single game or participate in a virtual tournament with other game enthusiasts.

The software development process starts by making a digital video of real golf courses. The video is then converted into 3D animation and other related software and plug-ins are added to make a complete computer golf software. Players can customize the look of their virtual golfer and opponents or choose from real life golf professionals provided by the software. They can select their skill levels, shots, clubs and favorite course. The games can also be played in different modes that may include wind mode, ice mode or desert mode. Some computer games allow players to design their own courses and game modes.

Golf is an outdoor game and requires walking long distances on a golf course. Golf club memberships are expensive and unaffordable for many. Computer golf games are relatively cheaper. A good gaming software provides as good an experience as playing real time golf.

These games have helped in increasing the popularity of Golf. Professionals use advanced versions of these games to record their actual play and find flaws in strokes and club selection. In the coming years, the golf software is expected to encourage and aid professionals entering golfing tournaments and championships.

The Value of Fiction

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

One of my friends recently remarked that reading or writing fiction in his opinion was a waste of time. Of course, he made this remark in jest. Yet I started to look at the value of fiction in a broad context in response to his criticism.

Would readers learn more from a book that teaches them how to run the latest computer application, or how to build a backyard deck than from fiction? Some would content that as fiction is merely imaginative, therefore it's value is less than non-fiction which somehow relates more to "real life." However we define what constitutes the real.

So my defense of fiction rests on certain benefits that it offers to both the human imagination and the soul. The soul in this case is used to define that part of us that gains awareness and depth from reading fiction and will be used interchangeably with spirit, while the imagination is that part of us that allows us to suspend disbelief and enter into a magical world of story-telling.

The oral tradition of story-telling is an art that has survived from early prehistoric hunting-gathering societies of the past to the written stories of today. Through it we maintain a connection of what essentially makes us human in our thoughts, emotions and even dreams.

A good story provides entertainment and an escape from the problems of everyday life, or it can even rarefy or clarify the experiences of everyday life through the lens of imaginative play. With fiction you can go anywhere in the world and to any particular time. You can go to the deep south with Alice Walker's The Colour Purple, or the boondocks of Western Australia in Tim Winton's Dirt Music. Anything and everything is possible in scope of fiction with only the human imagination and spirit as the limit.

How many times have you curled up with a good book and found yourself relaxing right into your chair or sofa? The pace of reading is set to you, not to how fast images can be flashed across a TV screen. We need to allow ourselves the opportunity to relax in such a way in order to give ourselves some well-earned R 'n R.

If we stop valuing imagination, creativity and dreams in our lives, then we must reexamine our attitudes. Why do we not allow ourselves to read something for the joy that it offers? Why must we always justify our time in terms of being productive?

Richard Green in his book on writing, The Writing Experience, remarks that Western culture is left-brain oriented instead of right-brain, so one consequence of this imbalance is linear thinking that limits our mind from new possibilities, instead of holistic thinking where we more readily see the interconnections. Reading fiction reconnects us to the right hemisphere of our brain, allowing for greater creativity, intuition and the ability to understand the "big picture."

Reading fiction can make life rich and enjoyable but when we are preoccupied with other matters of existence, we find it hard to justify. Of course, a work of fiction can also be enlightening.

Our novel, Nexus: A Neo-Novel has a compelling narrative with spiritual insights interwoven into the plot. This unique style allows the reader to grow through the experience of the characters in the novel. Debby and I selected the narrative format because you can teach in a fun way without becoming "preachy" and at the same time we communicate an important message from the journey taken by each character in Nexus.

Fiction also gives us the unique capacity to empathize. As readers we can connect to the struggles and emotions of the hero or heroine of a story and that connection is important in allowing the human heart to have compassion.

Some of the excesses of human history were perpetrated by intelligent persons who lost empathy as individuals or as a collective. Some ideologies such as Nazism, Stalinism or Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge placed more value on their ideology than to value human life. This is not to say that reading fiction will necessarily make you a better person but the empathy aroused by it allows you to step outside your normal frame of reference, even if you enter the mind of killer as in Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris.

Mention of that book leads me to my final point: Fiction has an impact on society, just a concrete example would be the many fiction books that have been turned into movies in recent years.

Literature has also been a vehicle to express concern for social problems. Tolkien shows his concern for totalitarianism in Europe during his time with the image of Sauron as an omniscient eye and with the power of the "one ring to rule them all." George Orwell's Animal Farm is a clear satire of Stalinism. Time Machine by H.G. Wells shows the problems of technology in a futuristic world and The Ugly American by Lederer and Burdick is a scathing critique of American policy in Asia.

Books in the genres related to our novel such as The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield, or Dan Millman's Peaceful Warrior series have a narrative flow but also present insights. So fiction can teach in many ways about the human experience, while eliciting imaginative play. So let your imagination soar with a good book. You know that it's good for your mind and soul.

Banner Advertising - Way to Double Your Profits

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

There are many forms of online promotions used by the marketers ranging from email campaigning, e-newsletters to company website. Online banner advertising is one of the means by which you can promote the business of the company. It is a unique form of advertising which enables an entrepreneur in establishing online presence. In the Internet age, it is vital to gain an online presence. The presence of a company's site gives an impression of the company being authentic and genuine. Effective advertising enables you to promote your product as well as to establish a corporate image.

In banner advertising, you can incorporate animation for the purpose of making the advertisement attractive and visually appealing. The use of computer graphics enables a marketer to boost the click-through rates. The animated images should be subtle enough to allure the attention of the customers towards the product. Make less use of graphics so that the advertisement does not consume much to be downloaded. The graphics add to the file size of the web page. Ensure that the computer graphics highlight the main message and contain the same message in the last animation frame. Keep the message short and simple so that it becomes easy for the target audience to grasp and understand. Present the message in such a way so that it becomes memorable. A person can also have a call to action phrase such as "Click Here" or "Submit" button. This is to provoke the interest of the web visitors and motivate them to click on the advertisements. For designing attractive & unique banners there are many banner maker tools available.

The increase in click-through rates is not the only solution for boosting the sales of the organization. An online promotion aims at generating interest in the mind of a potential customer for the product of a company. The success of a banner advertisement lies when a prospective customer purchases the product of a company. These advertisements are used for the encouraging the customers to purchase the product of an organization. This helps you in generating and increasing the profits of a company or an organization. These online advertisements also play a crucial role in promoting the corporate image.

The Coolest Way to Launch Applications

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

When it comes to launching applications Windows XP is not the most efficient tool ever devised. Mac OS X has an infinitely better looking solution - the Dock is one of the most beautifully illustrated and nicely animated tool bars to grace computer screens.

One day I suddenly decided that I wanted a really slick way of starting applications on my PC. I started off with Object Desktop - a program that adds an almost perfect OS X Dock to the bottom of the screen. It animates perfectly and you can even get it to automatically hide its self just like a Mac. It's a very impressive add-on, but I wasn't completely happy. It just didn't fit in with the default styles of XP, and made it look a bit too much like a "wannabe" Mac.

I needed something that fitted in perfectly with XP, and didn't stick out like a sore thumb. After much reading on forums I saw quite a few recommendations for a program called Launchy. This is a completely different way to launch programs that does away with using a mouse.

Once installed, it starts up with Windows very quickly and requires very little system resources. To evoke Launchy is really simple - you just press Alt + Space, and nicely framed small rectangle appears in the centre of your screen. Then you type the first few letters of the application and as you type it uses predictive text to guess what you are looking for. Once it gets it right you just press Return and it the program is started. The more you use it, the better it gets at guessing and the better the more familiar you get with what it offers. For example if I type in 'e' it guesses "Excel", but if I type "ex" it suggests "Internet Explorer". The reason why it does this is because I have trained it with the selections that I have made in the past.

After about a day of use, Launchy becomes second nature. It is so much faster and easier than using a mouse which is especially useful for laptops where you have the added handicap of a touchpad. For this reason I would recommend this tool for anyone with impaired sight or poor coordination.

Launchy isn't just limited to applications, but can also be used to find all sorts of files. By going into the settings you can designate which folders to index. I have all my mp3 music indexed, and this means that I can play any song in my collection in a matter of a couple of seconds. I love this application.

Why the Entertainment Industry Should Care About Pc Over Ip

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

Film, animation and television industry creatives should take notice: new technology is now available that allows you to instantly share dailies in full HD, work with remote studios or work from home - while keeping your movies secure.

* Keep large video and animation file sets in the server room and off the desktop
* Protect against pre-release piracy
* Enable free seating for creative collaboration

The technology has been available for a while which allows companies to centralise their desktop IT, removing the computers from under people's desks and replacing them with an energy efficient, small, quiet box called a "thin client". A thin client is basically a screen directly connected to the internet.

Remote working

Many companies are choosing this strategy for their desktop computing because of the advantages of centralised management (no more crawling under desks fixing computers), as well as the ability to access a remote desktop from anywhere, allowing for remote and home working.

Technical limitations of thin clients

Hardware manufacturers are well aware of the current limitations of their technology, especially in terms of displaying streaming multimedia. Although standard thin client technology works really well for 90% of the cases where companies need to perform the usual office functions, there are some industries which have had technical issues which prevent them from fully adopting thin client technology. This is especially the case for the entertainment industry, which relies heavily on having instant access to large files of content rich multimedia.

New technology

This is where PCOIP comes in. PC-over-IP is a new technology that allows the desktop computer to, effectively, be moved to a central computer room so that the user only has a "thin client" on their desk. This is the same concept as with standard thin clients. The difference is that PC-over-IP uses a new technology which allows for improved streaming multimedia.

The performance of this technology is impressive. At a recent demo, the author saw a large monitor attached to a thin client the size of a VHS cassette (and mounted neatly to the back of the screen), with 3D animation, CAD imaging and an animated film streaming in realtime from a server in Canada. The one concern is network bandwidth utilisation, and any company considering this technology should make provisions for a very fast network.

This has some massive implications for the entertainment industry.

For animators, this means that remote animation teams working in different continents can now have centralised desktops located at the company headquarters, all working on the same servers and with all data stored centrally - and closer to the render farms.

You can share dailies in HD without file uploads. Because the compression used in this technology doesn't effect the final pixel colour, you can review dailies in native playback.

You can relocate to your home studio. Because the experience of working on this system is just as it would be in the office, you're no longer tied to your desk at work.

The Longevity of Paper

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

Paper as a medium has always been reliable in everything it does. It is lightweight and easy to manufacture from readily available materials. There is little that can be held against it other than environmental repercussions. But still, this medium has proven its longevity since its invention during the ancient times. Whether it's for writing or folding planes with, paper has stayed alive all this time as a major part of the world.

But nowadays, it is not getting as much attention as computers and other related technologies. When it first came in, people started talking about paper becoming obsolete. However, it is within human nature to want something to actually hold in their hands, so digital formats won't be taking out paper anytime soon. There is still nothing better than flipping the page of a good book on a lazy afternoon, and not even e-books or portable readers can ever truly replace that experience.

The newer types of paper are now geared towards the green trend of saving the environment and conserving resources. Chlorine contents have been lowered and recycled paper is being utilized more. But we can't have illusions about it as paper itself is a biodegradable material, which means that whatever gets recycled are merely a fraction of what is rotted away. People are now able to go into a fit of rage for every tree chopped down to make a notebook, so paper mills are doing what they can to cater to this new way of looking at paper.

It must be said that it is not the elimination of paper itself that must be practiced, but the efficient use of it. The world still needs it, so we might as well put up with various theories and solutions to the problem of waste. You can do little things like writing on both sides, recycling immediately, using other media to record information, and so on. Perhaps they do go a long way to keep paper alive in this day and age.

Without paper, we would be more useless than other animal species. Well, perhaps that may be an exaggeration, but the importance of the material must never be understaded. Even our money is made out of paper, so it says a lot about its role in the world. We should think of new solutions to problems that may have paper demonized by the green crowd. Next to plastic, paper has always been the most useful substance to man.

We can take as many things for granted as we want, but we'll be absolutely sorry once we lose them. They say that paper should be long gone by now due to forests being destroyed and landfills overflowing. It has been nothing but helpful to human society, so we should make proper use of it instead of just throwing it in the garbage can just because it was either a receipt, unused tissue that you weren't going to use anyway, tax statements, subpoenas, and so on. Don't ruin it for other people and keep paper alive by reusing and recycling to conserve it.

Human Capital and Napoleon Dynamite

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

In regione caecorum rex est luscus, [In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king]. This famous quote by Dutch author, philosopher, and scholar, Desiderius Erasmus, might be interpreted by an economist in this manner: In the land of the poor, (or rich for that matter), the productive man is king. In other words, he who has the most human capital; (skills, talents, perseverance, honesty, creativity, education, etc.), will lead a more comfortable lifestyle. In the book, Naked Economics, Charles Wheelan dedicates a chapter to discuss how human capital plays a key role in understanding why certain people are poor and what can be done about it.

An essential idea presented in the beginning of this chapter is that the labor market is no different from the market for anything else. In a labor market, a potential employee is trying to "sell" his or her talents and skills to an employer.

Napoleon Dynamite: Well, nobody's going to go out with me!

Pedro: Have you asked anybody yet?

Napoleon Dynamite: No, but who would? I don't even have any good skills.

Pedro: What do you mean?

Napoleon Dynamite: You know, like nunchuck skills, bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills... Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills.

Pedro: Aren't you pretty good at drawing, like animals and warriors and stuff?

Napoleon Dynamite: Yes... probably the best that I know of.

Here we see that Napoleon recognizes the importance of good skills when trying to attract a member of the opposite sex. Just as an employee without any skills would not expect to be hired, Napoleon is certain a potential date would turn him away. But Napoleon's chances of landing a date rise as he realizes he is the best artist of all the people he knows, (a unique skill an employee can market to set himself apart from other candidates). Employees (or singles) with a greater set of skills or a more unique set of skills will be in greater demand. By applying the basic economic principle of supply and demand we can infer that as the demand for certain skills goes up, so does the value of hiring an employee (or dating someone) with those skills. The opposite holds true as well, the less "human capital" an employee offers, the lower the wage he receives. This brings us to our first point: Poverty is due to a lack of skills, or human capital.

The rich are getting richer because they are becoming more and more productive, and the poor, well, they aren't doing anything different. "Productivity is the efficiency with which we convert inputs into outputs," and "human capital is inextricably linked -- to productivity," (pg 107). To be more productive, one must develop greater human capital. We observe "The poverty rate for high school dropouts in America is twelve times the poverty rate for college graduates," (pg 101). A simple solution with complex implications is then suggested; higher education for these disadvantaged persons. The complex implications arise in trying to devise a policy that would enable the poor class to become more productive given that "Disadvantaged parents beget disadvantaged children," (pg 106). These parents do not invest in the human capital of their children and thus make it difficult for the labor market to provide work for these persons.

"Our total stock of human capital-everything we know as a people-defines how well off we are as a society," (pg 105). Although we haven't eliminated poverty altogether, if we were to evaluate our entire nation, from poor-class to upper-class, we are doing extremely well at advancing our overall human capital, so much that the poverty line is now at a level of real income that was attained only by those in the top 10 percent of the income distribution a century ago. It may be true that in the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king, but we live in a nation where we all have the potential to see; some just choose to keep their eyes closed.

Digital Society

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

Throughout the history of mankind there have been many technological achievements that have propelled us into a new age with their innovation. Things like the industrial revolution, automobiles and electricity have changed the very way we live our lives and will continue to have profound and far reaching effects for millennia to come. However of all our marvelous accomplishments there is but one that stands out from the rest and will likely be considered the greatest turning point in our civilization for any amount of time into the foreseeable future. That technological breakthrough is, as I'm sure you've already guessed, the internet. With limitless potential for effortless communication across the world, the internet is rapidly changing the way we live our lives. Whether you're a 'digital immigrant' or even a 'digital nomad' the consequences of having a global and collaborative interconnected network have surely affected you in some ways. Whether it is in your daily commute as light signals on roadways are now fine tuned to be customized for maximum efficiency and minimum wait time, or just how you pay for your morning coffee at Starbucks, you have been affected in some way. All around the world products and services are being optimized to work with the internet and the 'digital society' we are rapidly creating. I am what you may call a 'digital native', someone who has grown up around technology and always had it readily available. Through this upbringing I have had the opportunity to use the internet to its fullest potential. The term 'just Google it' is the answer to many questions I come across on a daily basis. In fact, I'm probably the shining example of a polar opposite of a Feral Child, a child assumed to have been raised by animals, in the wilderness, isolate from humans. Because of this rearing I'm able to more efficiently communicate and interact with the shaping world around me and it has made it much easier for me to become a productive and successful member of society. The internet has also played an enormous role on my personal Socialization. In fact, my Self view is intertwined with the internet to a point that I don't know who I would be had I been born 100 years ago. With that said, as a digital native (from the boondocks) this is my personal journal of how I became a member of our ever changing digital society.

If there was a defining moment in my life when I could say "this is when I entered the digital society", it would have to be on Christmas day when I was 5 years old. My parents had gotten me what I still believe today to be the best gift of my entire life, a Sega Genesis game console. From that point on I have been addicted to technology and all its wonders and have even formed and been part of several Peer Groups, for instance my programming study group. But in all reality that game console was probably the single biggest Agent of Socialization I have ever experienced. Whether it is because it was my first or because it was such a huge deal to me back then is irrelevant, the point is that it happened and it affected me profoundly. For many of today's 'digital immigrants', not having experiences like those aforementioned can lead them into a state of resocialization, learning the internet etiquette and norms. It's from these types of experiences and interactions with our digital society that have helped shaped me into the person I am and have lead to my developed Ego.

Growing up in the age of Facebook, MySpace and Google has lead to a more interconnected and easily accessibly social life. Having such wonderful social communication also has its downfalls. For example, when my parents were growing up, if they wanted to hang out with their friends they had to ride their bike over to their friend's house or at least have a parent drop them off. This is not the case with today's society. Nowadays if a youth wants to connect with their Peers, it's as simple as flipping a switch on their Xbox, powering up their computer or reaching into their pocket for their cell phones. Many would argue that this is making our society as a whole by and large a much lazier and less active people. Although there is some validity to this statement it does not take into account all the benefits of such interactions. For instance, what starts out with IM'ing your friends can lead to a better and easier communication channel that will be with you for the rest of your life and can help you in the 'real world' of corporate America, better known as Anticipatory Socialization. This is a skill and an asset that I dare anyone to take for granted.

In closing, living in the digital society has better prepared me for a life in which everyday more and more of our tasks are automated by computers or made to run more efficiently. Gone are the days that students crank out their Sociology papers on typewriters (I'm currently producing this paper on my favorite laptop) and as we move into the future it's hard to tell what it holds for us. It's becoming clearer each day the Manifest Functions of the internet but what we really need to focus on is what the Latent Functions maybe. As new technologies are introduced at almost light speed from all corners of the earth, we as sociologist must focus on what the long term effects of such a digital society may have on our children, because if you're old enough to be reading this then the future no longer lies with you, it lays with your children. The effects of the internet are still too early to see and must be studied more in depth to come to a positive conclusion. Hopefully our grand children will have a better answer as to the effects then us. As a digital native I would like to leave you with a slang term popular among my peers: TTYL (Talk to you later).

Types of Animation

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

The world of technology has advanced and modified over the years. It has brought a wave of computer graphics with which an animator can transform his world of picture-making into the world of reality. The graphics has brought a new tide of revolution in the field of computer. Over the years, the graphics became popular in many professional fields. They are employed from fields ranging from film, cartoon making to commercial business and educational institutes.

In a commercial world, the animation is used for the purpose of advertising goods and services. It is also used in maintaining and presenting the company website or promoting online business. An entrepreneur also employs computer graphics for presenting reports or making multimedia presentations. Educational institutions require these graphics for lucid explanation of facts or online tutorials. The film and entertainment industry often uses cartoons for visual effects or preparing a complete cartoon film.

There are several types of animation invented and introduced to the world. The 2D graphics was the first to be introduced to the world. In this kind, the cartoon characters are created by using 2D bitmap graphics. The advanced version is 3D animation that is digitally modeled as a result of which an animator can manipulate the image he desires or requires. There are many ways to use the graphic for the purpose of cartoon making. The Puppet cartoon making can be created by using stop-motion puppet figures. A constructed environment is created in which these figures interact with each other. The Model graphics are also used for the purpose of making cartoon films for the purpose of entertaining the children. Nowadays, animated films are also created for the adults and not only for the children. It is stop-motion moving picture created that exists as a part of real world. There are several visual effects used for the purpose of making a picture more emphatic and impressive. You can have intercutting, split screens and matte effects to make the stop-motion characters interact with the live actors or settings. The clay moving pictures employs figures made of clay or similar such material to create an impression of moving pictures. All these are different kinds of animated films or characters to achieve desirable results.

The 7 Abilities of High IQ Children

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

By age 5, most children in America will have been given some kind of intelligence test, whether it is for private school admissions, gifted and talented qualification, or public school placement in slow, average, and accelerated learning groups. These tests cover the 7-abilities educators believe children must have in order to thrive in the classroom. While teachers understand why these abilities are so important for testing and school success, parents are surprisingly in the dark about them. Here is a quick tutorial on the 7-abilities and tips on how you can build them at home.

1. Language - Receptive language is your child's capacity to tune into and understand the language she hears (and later reads) all day. Expressive language is her ability to use words orally (and later in writing) to express ideas and feelings in a clear, organized manner.

Why it matters in school? Language pervades any class a student takes in school. She must be able to listen, pay attention, and comprehend lessons being taught. She needs to answer the teacher's questions and follow her instructions.

Tips to build language at home. Read picture books to your child as often as you can, asking her questions or expanding upon things that capture her interest. It's also important to converse with her about everything and everything all the time. Children raised in high-language households have IQ scores that are 38-points higher than kids brought up in low language homes.

2. Knowledge/comprehension is your child's understanding of information, social standards of behavior, and common sense that children his age usually understand. To flourish in kindergarten, a child should know colors, shapes, seasons, fruit, farm animals - all the basic kinds of information kids are exposed to through picture books, preschool, and life itself. He should understand manners and how to get along in the world as a 5-year-old. It takes time and a parent's involvement to acquire this.

Why it matters in school? Your child's kindergarten teacher will assume he has acquired this basic information by the time he starts school. In order to get along socially with his classmates, he will need to behave with the same level of maturity as other kids his age.

Tips to build knowledge/comprehension at home. Nothing beats real experiences like going to the beach, baking cookies, visiting the doctor or taking trips to the grocery store for acquiring basic knowledge. Concepts books such as Richard Scaary's "Best First Book Ever" cover all the essential information kids are expected to know by kindergarten.

3. Memory is your child's ability to retrieve information learned recently or in the past.

Why it matters in school? More memory is needed for school success than is required for any other career. In school, kids must remember spelling, vocabulary, rules of grammar, multiplication tables, history, and procedures for solving math problems. They must remember relevant facts and lessons learned in the past for new assignments and tests.

Tips to build memory at home. To remember things better, kids must be able to take something long they hear or read and shrink it to a manageable size. After you read a book to your child, ask her to tell you the story back in her own words. Make patterns using Fruit Loops or colored beads, cover them up, and see if your child can recreate them.

4. Mathematics is your child's ability to work with simple computational skills and to do the thinking needed for higher order math work (patterning, sequencing, ordering, classifying, and comparing).

Why it matters in school? From the time your child starts school, math operations will be one of his most important subjects. Higher order math work is the foundation for the critical thinking and problem solving challenges your child will face as he advances in school.

Tips to build mathematic skills at home. Always build math into conversations you have with your child. "Dinner will be ready in 5-minutes." "Do you want a whole cookie or half a cookie?" Make a habit of counting everything - from your child's toes to the number of days until your vacation. Let your child help you sort dark and light clothes when you do laundry. Post a chart of your child's schedule so he can see the sequences of his own life. Put his stuffed animals in order of size from smallest to largest. Compare cheese pizza to pepperoni pizza or Sponge Bob to Arthur.

5. Visual-Spatial Skills is your child's ability to reason and solve problems using pictures, images, diagrams, shapes - anything but words.

Why it matters in school? When your child starts school, she'll need to draw and recognize shapes in order to write and recognize letters and numbers. She needs to be able to work within page margins, start writing from left to right, and space letters appropriately. When she learns long division, she'll have to be able to line up numbers to solve the problem.

Tips to build visual-spatial skills at home. Working with puzzles and blocks is a great way to strengthen visual-spatial skills. Look for visual challenges in "Highlights Magazine," which always features hidden pictures inside other pictures, or read a "Where's Waldo" book and let your child find Waldo.

6. Cognitive Skills are all the brain functions that make it possible for kids to think, reason, and solve problems.

Why it matters in school? As your child advances in school, he'll need to compare and contrast objects and ideas, make predictions based on patterns he has seen before, and think conceptually when writing reports. He'll constantly be faced with new problems to solve and experiments to complete.

Tips to build mathematic skills at home. You can help your child become a thinker and problem solver at home. When the ball rolls behind the sofa, ask him to come up with ways to retrieve it. When he can't get dressed in time for school, ask him to think of ideas for getting ready faster. Pose thought-provoking questions like, "What do you think would happen if a child were President?" Give him a voice in making choices so he'll become comfortable with decision making. Finally, one of the best ways to build cognitive skills is to let your child play.

7. Fine-Motor Skills are your child's ability to control his hands and fingers. He needs these for activities like cutting and folding papers, tying shoelaces, typing on the computer, writing and coloring.

Why it matters in school? Studies have shown that 60-70% of children's schoolwork requires fine-motor skills.

Tips to build fine-motor skills at home. Working with Play-doh, drawing with crayons, and cutting shapes are wonderful ways to build fine-motor skills. Line up an assortment of coins, all heads-up. See how many your child can turn over in 30-seconds. With more than one child, make it a race.

Monster Careers: Networking - A Friendly Book on Networking for Job Seekers

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

Jeff Taylor "wrote the book" on using the internet to help job seekers when he created Monster.com as one of the very first dot com companies. Now, along with Doug Hardy, also from Monster.com, he has written an actual book on using networking in a job search. For job seekers and other career builders, the years of experience that both men bring to the table shine through. Neither one of them have spent their time exclusively behind a computer screen.

Networking for job seekers is one of the most important job search tools available. I found the book to be thorough and easy to read. There were three sections that were most interesting and helpful to me. The authors create a formula for developing a personal brand statement that will help people help you find a job. A personal brand statement isn't a request to find a job. It's a way to teach people about your skills and accomplishments. And it gives them a clear idea of what kind of job you are looking for.

The second part that I found most interesting was actually borrowed from my friend and admired author Bob Burg's book "Endless Referrals." Called the White Pages and Yellow Pages strategy, it helps jog your memory to recall the maximum number of people whom you know. Unless you've been keeping careful track all along, there are dozens and maybe hundreds of people whom you know. Could you recall all of them at need?

The final technique that I found most useful was the description of the informational interview which I think is one of the most powerful job search techniques you have. The authors clearly describe what it is and how to describe it. I would have liked to have seen an example of how to make the phone call to set one up.

There is one small part of the book that I do find that a little confusing and not as helpful as the rest of the information. There is a description of four kinds of networking styles using animal analogies. I wasn't able to keep them straight in my mind based on their different descriptions. Still, everyone will be able to relate to the stories related to the styles.

Overall this is a very helpful book for anyone involved in a job search or who knows a job seeker. Take the time to not only read, but follow the exercises and you'll be well on your way to finding the right job for you.

Contrarian Selling Approaches

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

Contrary: opposed, opposite in nature, altogether different. Several Indian tribes had warrior societies called Contraries or Contrary Warriors. The contraries were different in nature as well as actions, and were thought to be wise men. While being in the automobile business my whole adult life, I have observed and been a student of some of the more successful dealers in the business and have found that a lot of those dealers take a Contrarian approach to their business. Following the masses seldom leads to riches.

For many years automobile dealers have been selling vehicles with practically the same techniques. A particular sales approach may have been observed and then passed from one dealer to another. Managers taught the salespeople the techniques and when some of those salespeople became managers. They taught their salespeople what they had been taught. Thus, we have a never-ending cycle of teaching techniques and approaches that may now be outdated in today's marketplace.

There are as many personal computers being sold in one day in the United States as there were total in existence fifteen years ago. When you combine the proliferation of computers with the availability of the Internet and the explosion of information available today, you get a more educated and sophisticated customer than before. Although the consumers may have changed in the last fifteen years, for the most part our selling techniques have not. As I train and work with dealerships across the country, I see a willingness to change and to be unique in the marketplace. Every aspect of the traditional selling approach must be scrutinized and possibly changed.

Let's look at just one specific area - The Meet and Greet. Proxemics is the relationship of physical distance among people. In other words, we all have comfort zones. For many years, we have taught salespeople to walk up to a customer and extend our hand for the greeting and give our names and ask for the customer's name. However, consumers are telling us in surveys that they don't want to be jumped on upon entering the dealership. The question is, "How do we greet customers promptly without them feeling like they're being attacked?" When approaching customers, salespeople should stay in the social zone which is about three to five feet away from the customer. Also, we know that upon being greeted, customers reply "I'm just looking" almost one hundred percent of the time. To make the customer feel more at ease, just use their usual response in your greeting. Example: "Hi folks. Are you just beginning to look and shop around today?" Ask questions to start taking control of the process and get the customer talking to gain rapport. I would suggest waiting a minute or two before shaking hands and exchanging names, if possible. I can guarantee that when a salesperson exchanges names while shaking hands in the beginning of the greeting, that as soon as they drop your hands from the handshake, the names drop to the floor and the salesperson will not remember the names of their customers ten seconds after they have gotten them. While I am in dealerships working, I observe traditional greetings and can say that the customer looks uncomfortable with the process almost every time.

Every step of our sales process must be reviewed in the manner similar to what we have just done. Lemmings are animals that follow the one in front of them, even if it is off a cliff and to their death. As smart business people, we have to be willing to be more contrarian and less like lemmings.

How Adventure Games Evolved

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

For a greater part of the 1980's adventure games have been popular as compared to other types of games. An adventure game is a type of video game that involves puzzle-solving as well as exploration with and some of interaction with the game characters. Narration tends to be the focus and as a result most adventure games tend to be single-player as a multi-player mode will remove the story-based aspect of it.

Most adventure games come in the form of computer games although it's possible to find console-based versions these days. So what makes an adventure game what it is? Well, one of the common features of adventure games is "fetch-quests" theme where in order to progress, the player has to help a character in order to gain an important item or information. For instance, in a typical scenario where a player needs healing, he may be required to obtain a plant or the ingredients needed to make the magic healing potion. In these cases, the player often has to perform acts of benevolence or selflessness - such as freeing prisoners, animals - in order to locate of gain the reward of these ingredients. There are times they have to distract some characters in order to steal their price.

Another feature is to trap players in a dead end or a seemingly impossible place to escape from forcing the player to employ drastic measures in order to get out of the trap or find a means (sometimes an artefact or a key) to free themselves. These unwinnable games where the player met a dead-end were usually left unfinished unless he was able to return to the original position. A well-known example of this is Return to Zork.

Although, adventure games were very popular in the 1980's, this popularity quickly declined in the early 90's when the Action games became the "rage". As a result it was not financially sound to create and market them when people had no interest. The advent of console game platforms and MMORPG has not helped either. Nevertheless popular adventure games like Syberia and Syberia II have been published both for the PC and Xbox. In addition, Nintendo DS released of Trace Memory and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney in 2005 and Hotel Dusk: Room 215 in 2006.

The latest development is that free online adventure games can now obtained on premium internet portals without the need for download or plug-in. Many game lovers are now turning their attention to the internet not just for playing games but for socializing as well. Perhaps this is the new way in which adventure games will be played.

Convert Your Videos into PSP Format -The 1-2-3 Way

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

Nowadays, a lot of people have got their PSPs and are happy playing all the time and wherever they are, no more boring waiting anywhere. But we are always wanting animals, and we have dominated the “Gaming anywhere”, now people so lazy to even play the games themselves, wouldn’t it be nice to sit and watch the movies right in your hands anywhere, yes that would be cool. But PSP doesn’t allow videos of "avi" and "divx" format to be played, so sad… only we can convert videos into PSP format.

The Question which I am always asked from the users who are starting to understand PSP is
“How to Convert Videos into PSP Format?”

I have a solution for to convert videos to PSP here, now... No more time to waste, right away to the content...

Requirements to convert videos to PSP:

a. DVD ripper

b. USB data cable

c. PC

d. 3GP converter

e. Memory Stick loaded into your PSP

f. PSP Firmware V1.5, (you can rollback to this version using the tools available over the net) and a video ;-)

Steps:

1. Connect your PSP to the pc using the data cable, now you will see your PSP as a removable drive in your my computer page

2. Now Rip the movie ("avi" or "divx") from your dvd to any of your drives

3. Use the 3GP converter, and select the option of “MP4 for PSP” format and select the required bit rate, frame rate settings etc to your needs, now select the video to be converted, and also give a path for the converted video to be placed...

4. Wait time….. It takes some time to convert your videos. In the meantime create folder called “MP_ROOT” in your PSP drive shown. Then within the “MP_ROOT” folder create a folder with the name “100MNV01”, sorry for such a weird folder name, but SONY PSP requires you to do so…..

5. Now, when the converter has completed converting your video files to PSP MP4 format, go to the location where you’re asked files to be converted. You will see a weird file named something like “M4V01234.MP4.”

6. Now copy that file to the folder path we have created in the 4th step “F:MP_ROOT100MNV01” where F can be your psp drive name created.

7. Disconnect PSP from Your pc, scroll over to videos in PSP menu, to select the video you just copied to the PSP by pressing the ‘o’ button and press ‘o’ again to play the file…
That’s it; you have the steps to convert your Videos into PSP format, Happy Watching anywhere anytime.

But if you are like me and use your little gadget PSP, heavily and crave for a lot of files in your PSP, keep watching movies, playing games, hear music all the time and do not want to waste a lot of time doing all the above steps repeatedly to convert videos into PSP format, believe me it consumes a lot of time from me, to keep my PSP updated. You will need a site to give you unlimited PSP downloads of Full version games, movies, music, software and millions of files, and thus avoid the hassle to convert videos into psp format.

There are a lot sites all over the internet, claiming to give you free downloads of PSP files, but believe me, they are all scams, they spread unbelievable viruses and other malicious tools, into your PSP. Hey, I even lost a whole new PSP (The virus critically affected the firmware) falling for these free to download sites, not to mention their sucking speeds.

So, does all the paid PSP download sites are legit? I am sorry to say… No they are not, there are a lot of sites which run away with your money. But I badly needed my PSP, so just tried out everything possible out there, a lot of sites. Finally found some sites worth their weight in gold, providing a lot of downloads (literally 10s of millions) just for the one time price of a single PSP game. If you want to see my reviews, go to [http://www.pspdownloadsreview.net]

Now follow the steps above, convert the videos to PSP and happily watch them on your PSP or see my reviews and join the site which you find apt for you and avoid the hassle to convert videos into PSP format.

How To Draw 3D Cartoons Quickly And Easily

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION :

Drawing cartoons is not the most difficult thing in the world but it isn't very easy either. You need time, imagination and sense of proportions to produce vivid characters and make your drawings look three-dimensional.

Colors and shades have a decisive role in the business but the lines and curves you use for the contour constitute the basic element. The art of adding shadows can be learned by studying objects in different places of your room if you can count on natural light. Otherwise, a lamp may be used to detect the difference that light makes in the appearance of an object. Grab a funny toy that you have in the house and a little lamp and start learning. Move the lamp around the toy and above it and make a visual note of what happens each time.

Now take a pencil and a piece of paper and try putting down your toy-character. Draw the contour and when you think it looks like your toy you may use a black color pencil to add firmness to the contour. Next step: color your character without thinking of shadows; they will come soon. As soon as you have filled the contour you will have to find the appropriate color pencil to make shadows with. Use a darker shade of whatever color your character is. Don't use gray or black, they will make your drawing look artificial.

With animal cartoon characters, the expression of the eyes and the proper shading are the basic elements that make them 'live'. The only thing to keep in mind is the head, which must be bigger for a baby animal. Yet, when you want to create people, proportions are a lot more important than colors. When we watch a film we usually concentrate on the face of an adult human character, but the general appearance can be easily noticed by the way it moves. Looking at a photo of yours or at your 6-year-old brother playing about the room will not help. There is nothing funny in real-life proportions. What you should do is exaggerate more or less in order to make your cartoon character amusing. A kid character will have a body about the same height as the head, while an adult character will look perfect with the body twice the height of the head.

Once you have created a set of animal and human cartoon characters (preferably on a graphic tablet with a stylus) and saved them in your computer, you may start preparing for a more difficult activity: creating 3D animations. There are several programs you can use to learn that. TrueSpace for instance is free and if you read the tutorial thoroughly and spend a couple of months of your life learning and testing the wide variety of options that the program includes, you may turn into an artist before you can notice. Nothing is easy when you try it for the first time, but with a little patience and a lot of passion you can make it. Believe me, 3D animation is a lot of fun, otherwise there wouldn't be so many adults doing it for pleasure. It is challenging and very rewarding. Try it yourself!
